BIS FMCS certification
Support for eligible foreign manufacturers preparing an FMCS application, Authorised Indian Representative documentation, testing and factory-inspection readiness.
For overseas factories
The Foreign Manufacturers Certification Scheme enables eligible manufacturers whose production facilities are outside India to apply for a BIS licence for products covered by relevant Indian Standards.
FMCS generally applies to products other than electronic and IT products notified under CRS. The applicable route must be confirmed for the specific product.
Key project elements
Our FMCS support
We help review the product, Indian Standard and proposed licence scope before the application is prepared.
We support the agreed documentation relating to the Authorised Indian Representative and application structure.
We organise the agreed technical and manufacturing information and coordinate relevant testing activities.
We help the overseas factory prepare relevant production, quality-control and testing information for the applicable process.
International coordination
Foreign-manufacturer projects often involve the factory team, the Authorised Indian Representative, laboratories and the Indian certification process. Missing or inconsistent information between those parties can cause avoidable delays.
Standix Global provides a central point of coordination for the agreed scope. We track the information needed, explain pending actions and help the parties prepare for the next stage.
Regulatory reference: See the official BIS FMCS Overview. Eligibility, documentation, inspection and licensing requirements remain subject to the applicable standard and current BIS procedure.
